Right now, my parents are forcing my siblings to watch "General Conference". It's a bi-annual quasi-brainwashing session for every member of the LDS church. For a total of 8 hours this weekend, my family will be having their brain meat updated with the latest Mormon Firmware, and I'll have to listen to the wheezy drone of old white men at full volume out of nearly every speaker in the house. They're streaming it online and recording it live on the television... just so they can be certain everyone is listening. They won't be turning it off until late tonight.
Only one more month till I move out...
Ouch- doesn't sound too enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteYou might learn a thing or two!
ReplyDeletethats tough
ReplyDeleteEarplugs and black metal?
ReplyDeleteSigh.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when religious people try to force their religion onto others.
Look, if you are all about "God" and all that, that's great. You can praise your deity all you want. Just don't drag me into it.
Owch, that sounds terrible. I can't even stand when I have to visit the religious side of my family and listen to them pray before eating, much less listen to some old dude preaching for hours.
ReplyDeleteI hate religion, always trying to force their beliefs onto other people...
ReplyDeleteand you are ia san:)))
ReplyDeletecan use a potateo for electricity:))) joke
I don't get it,really.
ReplyDeleteWhy people get so much easily fooled by religion?
my family are Christians, but it does not play a big role in my life.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds insane/ I could not deal with it. @.@
ReplyDeleteOh my god that sucks. If it was me I would probably kill something
ReplyDeleteWow, your entire family is mormon? They must've been brainwashing you all your live. How'd you survive?
ReplyDeletevery interesting!
ReplyDeleteouch. my parents are christians, but i'm kinda agnostic. i know how you feel bro. good luck
ReplyDeleteYou got to live with it I guess.
ReplyDeletedoesn't sound like fun.
ReplyDeleteHow'd you manage to avoid being brainwashed but the rest of your family fell victim to Mormonism? I think religious fanatics are so interesting because of their basic disregard for logic.
ReplyDeleteMost mormons I've met have been extremely kind people.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'm a heterosexual white male.
Too bad , i can't see how you manage with the stress
ReplyDeletemormons are great people but their beliefs are a bit wierd lol jk!
ReplyDeleteA month isn't that long, hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could handle your situation, good luck!
ReplyDeleteWow, I have to wonder with some of the other people. How DIDN'T you get brainwashed? Man, I hope you luck into moving out!
ReplyDeleteAt least you get a whole bunch of wives! ;D Jk, sad how some people can't see the truth.
ReplyDeletemy family is not mormon
ReplyDeleteI'd find somebody who look like me and pay him to go instead of me. Like the movie of "The Prestige" they make a trick of the transported man, and they find a double. lol
ReplyDeleteIs your life anything like Big Love?
ReplyDeleteThat sucks..Good thing your moving out though
ReplyDeletewhy would wanna leave a great place like that? lol...run far away
ReplyDeletethat's a good advice Rusty ! run forst run

ReplyDeleteOne part of my family is pretty religious too...
ReplyDeleteMormons? ohwow... Religion is a joke, in my opinion! Believe in yourself even if you have nothing to believe in. Don't rest your fate on an imaginary dude in the sky.

ReplyDeletesounds fun... not lol =)
ReplyDeleteMormonism! Fun stuff....
ReplyDeleteHang on there... we're supporting you
ReplyDeleteAs a spiritual person, I believe in God and all he does for us. However as a reasonable person, I believe that organised religion is grossly misguided in many aspects, so i'm not surprised, or critical, of any responses to this post.
ReplyDeleteI hope that once you're out of the environment you dislike, you can come to peace with your family. Nothing drags a human down like a burden on the heart.
Religion is fine and all, but why force it unto others, especially your close family members.
ReplyDeleteThe children of a family should have the right to choose their own religion if they wish to, not be forced to believe in something just because their parents do.
thanks for the informative post!
ReplyDeletehang in there!
ReplyDeleteReligion, simply the worst mistake man have ever made.
ReplyDeletewow, gunna be happy when you move out eh? haha
ReplyDeleteOh wow. My condolences. It's your job to wash it out of them afterwards.
ReplyDeletewow, is that sort of thing really necessary to keep the faith?
ReplyDeletesounds like hell
ReplyDeleteBro, that's tragic. I feel for you man.
ReplyDeleteget outta there ASAP bro
ReplyDeletejoe and the gold plates are a SCAM
RUN, as fast as you can, as far away as you can, in any direction. Religious nuts are the worst.

ReplyDeleteAfter reading your life story previously, I must say; I'm glad I'm not you. You're a very strong person.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it's not an LSD church, lol.
ReplyDeleteI agree with infinitewithin haha, excellent blog by the way I'm definatly following you
ReplyDeleteJust stay strong until you can get out on your own.
ReplyDeletehang in there!
ReplyDeleteI've had a few friends that are mormon. They were in the same position you were. Don't worry too much about it though. It all works out, even though it doesn't seem that way. Are you going on a mission?
ReplyDelete@brandon.
ReplyDeletecertainly not. and thankfully my parents have accepted this.
